Newsletter – October 2018

Larry’s Lines. . . .

By Larry Murphy, Executive Director

October is Pastor/Staff Appreciation Month.  Thank all of you for your commitment and faithful service to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.  We pray for you regularly and respect the awesome responsibility your calling places on you.

I pray that every church in both Madison-Chester and Crockett Associations will take some time and honor their pastor and staff.

The following was a Facebook post from our Tennessee Baptist Mission Board.  I felt it was worth sharing with all of you who receive our newsletter by way of the Baptist and Reflector, our Tennessee Baptist state paper.  By the way, if you are not receiving the Baptist and Reflector you should subscribe and be better informed of ministries and news across our state.

Share a gift of love and the gospel with a child in need.

In Tennessee, 22.4% of children live in poverty. For some of these children, a backpack from Tennessee Baptists may be all they receive for Christmas.

Christmas Backpacks are Child-Focused, Christ Centered and Church Connected.

Every effort is made to connect the child and their family with a local church. Each Christmas Backpack provides an opportunity to share the gospel with a child.

How can you be involved?

  • Pray – Start praying today for the boys and girls who will receive Christmas Backpacks
  • Participate– You, your family, your church, and your organization can become involved by preparing Christmas Backpacks for Children and Teens
  • Partner– You can partner with a church or compassion ministry that is distributing Christmas Backpacks

More information about the Christmas Backpacks can be found at the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board website at www.tnbaptist.org/backpacks.
